This NEKF fly-in was held in memory of Chris Beel and took place at Wensleydale RUFC in Leyburn on 17th July 2022. Chris, who we sadly lost in 2020, had a super kite collection and will be fondly remembered for his passion for Robert Brasington kites. I would have thought he had more in his collection than even Robert had. The wind, or lack of it, played havoc with our plans for flying in the morning but improved as the afternoon went on and therefore more Brasington’s appeared in the sky as well as some kites from other makers. It was lovely to meet up again with his daughter, Alison, as well as other fliers who we hadn’t seen for some time.
