Birdoswald 2016

The Birdoswald Kite Festival was held at the Birdoswald Hadrian’s Wall Roman Fort on 28th/29th/30th May 2016.  This was the first kite festival to be held at Hadrian’s Wall and was organised by English Heritage and Pauline Taylor from Infinite Arts. We were privileged to have been invited to fly at this first festival.  After all its not very often you get a chance to stay at a Roman fort and to be able to fly on such a historic site. Weather wise; Saturday was light winds, Sunday was near perfect and Monday had lighter but lumpy winds.  It was nice be be so close to the public flying area and some of the children (plus a few adults) really enjoyed helping us fly our big kites (well they tried to pull the lines LOL).  What a fantastic event made particularly enjoyable by the great company of the fellow invited fliers.
