The first Allendale Kite Festival took place on 11th/12th October 2008 at Church Lands Farm, Catton in Allendale, Northumberland. This event was organised by John Dobson and enters the books as the highest kite festival in the UK beating High Force by 10 metres. We had good to strong winds on both days with the added enjoyment on Sunday of flying to live music from the Tenth Avenue Band. It certainly turned out to be one of the top weekends of the year.
