Portsmouth 2010

This was our first visit to the Portsmouth International Kite Festival held 28th-30th August 2010 on Southsea Common.  Jon and Gill Bloom who organised the event made it a really enjoyable weekend with a great line up of fliers from the UK and abroad.  The weather on Saturday was great although Sunday’s wind was much stronger especially in the afternoon with the Isle of Wight hovercraft causing further swirls each time it went out.  Monday was a public fly day although some of the bigger kites got up in the air until about lunchtime.  As can be seen the Rev fliers had a 72 foot long dinosaur to play on, much to the amusement of the public and the fliers themselves.
