Cumbria March 2025

The caravan spends the winter up in the Lake District and we tend to enjoy walking and photography while we’re there so kite flying takes a back seat.  However we’d asked Carl Robertshaw to build us a couple of Delta Serpents so we were keen to fly them as soon as they arrived.  Wasdale has some fantastic scenery so we immediately thought of going there.  The wind had other thoughts though, swirling around 180o and back again in minutes so we just flew a couple of smaller kites instead.  What a back drop though.  On the way back we did find some common ground and launched the delta serpents much to the delight of some passers by who we couldn’t resist handing over the lines to.  The smiles when they were flying them were fabulous.
