Portsmouth 2024

The Portsmouth International Kite Festival arranged by Gill and Jon Bloom was held on 27th and 28th July 2024 on Southsea Common.  The weather forecast was always for very light winds but in the end we had good flying conditions on both days.  We again spent the majority of our time flying our sparred kites which was really enjoyable and a chilled weekend amongst some real talented kite designers and fliers.  Our trip down to speak to Rolf Zimmermann on Sunday coincided with Gill asking him if he could fly his three headed dragon, King Ghidorah, in the main arena.  We couldn’t resist in helping him fly it although it also meant helping to put it away as well which we were more than happy to do.  What a superb kite.  One of the highlights of a great weekend.  There’s also a video to view below.
