The FLY The South Pennines Kite Festival was held at Wainstalls, Halifax on 29th September 2018. This was a totally new festival on the calendar. Located on farmland high above Halifax, the over-riding memory was the very strong winds that whistled up and over the hills. Time taken to rescue Malcolm’s kites three times was well spent as his carp looked great against the super scenery. Given it was the organiser’s first festival, we have to say that they did a fantastic job from the Facebook posts and road signs to the public participation areas and stewards. Here’s hoping this event returns for another year.
