The Bridlington Kite Festival was held on Sewerby Fields, Bridlington on 7th/8th May 2016. This was the first kite festival to be held at Bridlington and was organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the Northern Kite Group. What a fantastic first event it was and a great location which had fantastic seas views (although we were shrouded in sea fret on the Saturday). Mind you Craig and Sue’s maxi Manta decided to slip a knot and go for a paddle. Thanks to the RNLI for rescuing it. Sunday lived up to it’s name. Temperatures were up with the sky bluer and the winds lighter than Saturday. We had a lull in the wind around lunchtime which gave us a welcome break after which we were able to put on a good show for all the public who were out in force enjoying the sunshine. It was great for us to see all our new dragons up and flying side by side and to also fly Lynn (gold teddy) for the first time this year. We had a super weekend of flying at a well organised event and hope that it will be a fixture on next years events calendar again.
