The Sunderland International Kite Festival took place on 5/6th July 2003. Yet another brilliant festival organised by Malcolm Goodman. The range of kites and their makers and fliers is incredible. Shame about the light winds but we did get our especially made box kite up during that part of the weekend. It’s cemented Sunderland as my favourite festival of the calendar.
